The day of the concert finally arrived, and Drukpa members were all excited about the night. As the official sponsor for the show, we were given the privilege to set up a booth to promote our activities and to sell our Live To Love products.
So a few members from Drukpa Penang and Drukpa KL arrived at the venue early to set up the booth and the slide presentation of Live To Love activities. Tzu Chi members were indeed very helpful by assisting us with the set-up as well as lending us the necessary equipment for the booth and presentation.
As reported earlier, the concert tickets were all sold out, in fact, it was oversold and as a result some of the Tzu-Chi members had to give up their seats. Guests started to arrive at around 7.30pm and many visited the exhibition booths set up by Tzu-Chi and Live To Love. The program started off with the emcee from Tzu-Chi briefly introducing the activities of both Tzu-Chi and Live To Love. After that both the Chairman of Tzu-Chi Malaysia and Drukpa Malaysia were both invited on stage for a cheque presentation where Jampal Thong presented a mock-up cheque of RM100,000/- to Albert Koay who received it on behalf of Tzu-Chi for the Myanmar Charity Fund. An instant warm and loud applause from the floor followed suit, signifying great support for this fund raising activity!
The show lasted three hours, with an interval in between. We would say that, not only was the fund raising a success, the musical has captured the hearts of many with great songs and acts that drew laughter as well as tears. We were very pleased with all the positive comments from guests and patrons of that evening.
It was a great fund raising, a great show and also a great collaboration between Live To Love and Tzu-Chi. And all these would not have been possible without the generous contributions from the sponsors. So here again, we would like to thank their kind support for the charitable activities of both Tzu-Chi and Live to Love!
