 Our recent visit to Myanmar in July 2009 led us to witness widespread poverty. Tzu-Chi has been very active carrying out relief and charity activities in various parts of the country since a few years ago. Their activities have brought about tremendous relief and improvement in living conditions for many. However, there are still a lot more needed to be done, hence we hope that we could at least help in certain extent by raising funds for Tzu-Chi's activities in Myanmar.
To raise fund for this purpose, we decided to sponsor under the name of LIVE TO LOVE a famous musical titled "I Have A Date With Spring", which is an adaptation of an award-winning play, set against the night club scenes from the 60s to 80s. We were very pleased that the patrons that we approached for sponsorship were very receptive to the idea and contributed generously. Here on behalf of Drukpa Penang, we would like to express our deepest gratitude towards their kind sponsorships in the name of LIVE TO LOVE!
All proceeds from the sales of the tickets, which shall commence on 1 Oct 2009, will be wholly channeled to Tzu Chi Charity Fund For Myanmar. We have estimated to raise at least RM100k from the sales of the tickets. In view of the previous success of this play in Hong Kong, we foresee this to be a sold-out concert!
