Celebrating The Legacy Of Great Love
In 1206, over 800 years ago, Tsangpa Gyare Yeshe Dorje saw nine dragons flew up into the sky from the ground of Namdruk, and named his his lineage "Drukpa" or "Lineage of the Dragons" after this auspicious event. In this way, Tsangpa Gyare became the founder of the lineage and was known as the First Gyalwang Drukpa.
The Drukpa Lineage is a meditation and practice lineage through which spiritual and enlightenment can be accomplished in one lifetime. Since the time of Tsangpa Gyare, numerous masters of the Drukpa Lineage have been appearing in our world, guiding uncountable beings on the spiritual path leading to ultimate happiness. Through sharing their wisdom and selfless love in the form of various benevolent activities, such as providing spiritual guidance, opportunities to receive education and medical facilities, these masters have been dedicating their entire lives serving all universal beings with only one altruistic motivation: FREEING ALL BEINGS FROM SUFFERING. It is because of this motivation that the many masters of the great Dragon Lineage continue to work tirelessly to serve the lineage through preserving the spiritual heritage and through serving the beings with different practical activities.
His Holiness Gyalwang Drukpa, spiritual head of the Drukpa or Dragon Lineage, has categorized all the humanitarian activities and causes of the Drukpa Lineage under five directions in an action-based mechanism that he named "LIVE TO LOVE":-
2. Medical Help
3. Relief and Aid
4. Heritage Preservation
5. Environment Protection
Worldwide Drukpa Centers have been actively carrying out the spirit of "Live to Love" in the above five directions for almost 2 years now. Both Drukpa Penang (Druk Tharpa Choling) under His Holiness Gyalwang Drukpa's guidance and Drukpa Butterworth (Drukpa Dharmashri) under His Eminence Lhamchok Rinpoche's guidance have also been consistently involved in the areas of "Relief and Aid" as well as "Environment Protection", especially promoting tree-planting in local schools.
In November 2008, our first anniversary after the launching of LIVE TO LOVE last year in the presence of His Holiness Gyalwang Drukpa and his spiritual sons, Their Eminences Khamtrul Rinpoche and Thuksey Rinpoche, and their entourage, His Holiness together with 4 Rinpoches and 15 qualified monks will return again to Malaysia to give us moral support and encouragement.
This time, we have decided to focus our energy on two "Live to Love" programs:-
Fundraising for the medical equipment for the Druk Pema Karpo Clinic in the mountainous region of Druk Amitabha Mountain, Kathmandu, Nepal
Constructing a simple Drukpa Monlam Assembly Hall in Eastern Tibet so that spiritual masters and monks of the Drukpa Lineage can come together periodically to conduct spiritual practices in dedication for peace, harmony and tranquility to prevail in the entire universe
