Amitabha Jangchog

Introduction Of Venerable Rigden Rinpoche

Venerable Rigden Rinpoche was born in 1968 at Derge Rinda, Tibet. He was recognized by HH Dilgo Khyentse and Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche as the reincarnation of Rigden Thutop Palzang Rinpoche. He received his training at a monastery of the Sakya tradition. Later He was enthroned at Dhi-phu Drukpa Monastery. He resides at Lhasa.

PURPOSE OF JANGCHOG

The Buddha Amitabha Jangchog is meant for the purification of the defilements of the deceased. It is performed through a profound ritual and conducted by Rinpoche and lamas who possess great compassion and meditation abilities to liberate the deceased. In the practice of Jangchog, MERITS are accumulated through the making of supplications and offerings to Buddha Amitabha and these merits are dedicated to the deceased for their purification and liberation. This practice helps the deceased in the Bardo and shows them the path to enlightenment. At the end of the ritual, the paper tablet with the name of the deceased written on it are burnt to symbolize the purification of their various kind of defilements, obscurities and negative karma of the deceased by the fire of wisdom and thereby ripen their merits to be reborn in the Amitabha's pureland.
