Introduction Of His Eminence Kyabje Khamtrul Rinpoche
Born 1981 in Darjeeling, India, H. E. Kyabje Khamtrul Rinpoche is a Master's Degree graduate in Buddhist philosophy from Bhutan's Tango Monastic University and one of the spiritual sons of His Holiness the Gyalwang Drukpa, head of the 800-year old Drukpa Lineage. For almost 10 years, he has travelled the world - from Mexico, Bhutan, Vietnam, Malaysia and Europe - to share his knowledge and passion on spiritual matters.
Known for his fresh and vibrant viewpoints on traditional Buddhist teachings, H.E. Kyabje Khamtrul Rinpoche will share in his belief that Buddhism is not a religion. Rather, Buddhism is a philosophy and a way of life. In a complex world that is increasingly in search of answers, H.E. Kyabje Khamtrul Rinpoche will illustrate how Buddhist ideals provide answers that are relevant to modern living and how Buddhist principles based on living a life of service to others is life-transforming and leads to happiness.
Chinese New Year Blessing Puja
In conjunction with Chinese New Year, H.E. Kyabje Khamtrul Rinpoche will conduct Gya Nen Lhabsang which is a Grand Smoke Puja that Guru Padmasambhawa used to pacify the spirits of Tibet when he went there. Gya Nen Lhabsang has numerous benefits, as it is an offering to guru Buddha, deities, dakinis and mahakala, and gift to all the beings, it increases luck and attracts or fulfill what you wish for; and by giving to what you owe in your previous lives to harmful spirits, you pay back the karmic debts and remove harmful peoples. It is also a purification of our outer dirtiness and inner negative karma. According to the Vajrayana tradition, a major smoke puja is a must before embarking on new business, projects or any other new ventures to ensure a smooth and auspicious path ahead.
Also on this occasion, there will be limited Protector Chakra Pendant for sales. It can be worn as an auspicious talisman to protect/ bless you; or it can be placed on your Shrine as a Holy Object of Refuge and Offerings. These special Protector Chakra Pendants from Bhutan have all been specially blessed by Rinpoche Himself.
Four-Armed Mahakala Puja
In the Drukpa Lineage of Tibetan Buddhism, Four Armed Mahakala is our Main Protector. According to the teachings, Mahakala is said to be the most powerful Protector deity of all, and He is deeply recognized by all four major traditions in Tibetan Vajrayana Buddhism. There are many forms of Mahakala: two arms, four arms or six arms. Amongst them, the Four Armed Mahakala is the Wisdom aspect of Mahakala, a Great Bodhisattva who had attained the 10th Bhumi (Stages of Enlightenment). It is also believed that He is non-dual manifestation of Chakrasamvara, and is always surrounded by His many powerful retinues such as: the Crow-faced Mahakala, Rahula, Shing Kyong - the Protector of All Buddha fields (pure lands), Pehar the Five Protectors, Mahakali, the Five Long Life Goddesses, Vaishravanaya and others. All these powerful and wrathful deities/retinues are the non-dual manifestation of Mahakala Himself; will be under His command in performing certain 'missions' or protection.
Mahakala is indisputably the Great Protector of the Dharma, as He promised to the Buddha that He will protect the Buddhadharma and its genuine practitioners; and He also vowed to destroy or dispel all negative forces that would bring obstacles to the preservation or growth of the Dharma. By practicing Mahakala, one can swiftly pacify all his/her Outer, Inner and Secret Obstacles; ensuring s smooth and quick attainment of the Four Activities of Pacification, Increasing, Magnetizing and Subjugation; protects us from all disasters and accidents caused by the four elements of Earth, Water, Fire and Air; protects our country and residences from harms and unwanted incidents; and to fulfill one's wishes, be it of Wealth, Health, Longevity, Wisdom, Abundance in all aspects etc.
Mask Dance
Vajra Dance is an unique way in expressing the profound meaning of the Dharma. This skilful means is popularly used in major Pujas or some important Celebrations. Performed with pure intentions and strict rules, this holy dance can bring forth the Great Power of Blessings and Auspiciousness to the viewers. Besides that, demons are pacified and defilements and obstacles will also be purified accordingly. To be able to witness such Sacred Dance is quite a rare chance, even in Tibet; as some monasteries will perform two Vajra Dances in a year, and some even do it once every 12 years! It is said that not only the Sacred Dance signifies ceremonial Auspiciousness, but most importantly, viewers will gain Insights and Blessings by just looking at it with faith and devotion. At the time of witnessing the Dance, practitioners will normally pray for its Blessings, Protection and Inspiration. Viewers will be planted the seeds of Purelands and Enlightenment in their consciousness. |
