Introduction Of Khandro Thrinlay Chodon

Born in the Indian Himalayas, in a valley called Lahoul, which is also known as the "land of the blissful dakinis", Khandro Thrinlay Chodon has, all her life, quietly and diligently, practised the Buddhist teachings of her precious family lineage.

In her adult life, Khandro-la's spiritual master, Gegen Kheyntse, gave the name "Khachodling" to the vision of Khandro-la, which has become her life's work of spiritual training and activity. Translated from the Tibetan, it means "Land of Blissful Dakinis". This title has a deep spiritual meaning and Gegen Kheyntse said to her - "when you envision dharma work it has to be as vast as the sky, for we have lifetimes to complete it"

Khachodling is a land where everything is infused with boundless joy, compassion and equanimity - a place where blissful dakinis flow and fly in the vast sky of wisdom and compassion.

This deep spiritual view is based in the teachings and blessings of the Drukpa lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. It has manifested in a series of projects that are united by a strong spiritual purpose.

So here, on this planet and at this time, we have Khachodling - a vision as vast as the sky and action as local as working side by side. From the cities of the West to the mountains of the Himalayas, men and women, adults and young people, lay people, monks and nuns are joining together in social action projects and spiritual training.

"Khachodling is, to me - a goal-less journey. I am not quite sure from where it came and where it is leading. But I do know that, myself and Khachodling have always been blessed by my precious masters, and these blessings will always continue. This vision - my life's work, is an offering to the wisdom of my great masters" - Khandro-la

Introduction Of Candlelight Puja

Concluding the year with a candlelight puja removes obstacles and
brings light and freshness into the coming year

"It is very auspicious to welcome the New Year with light offerings so that all obstacles for ourselves, our families, and our ancestors are removed. Light unveils the darkness of our karmic ignorance and illuminates the lamp of happiness and prosperity in our lives".

This puja (practice) is also a powerful way to help the deceased. By participating with the appropriate motivation and dedication, it is possible to help purify their karma, become infused with blessings and experience favourable states of being.

Offerings made on behalf of your loved ones in this puja are to be taken to Khandro Rinpoche's family gompas in the Indian Himalayas where longer pujas will be completed on their behalf by yogis, monks and nuns.

The text of this puja that Khandro-la provides is in English with Tibetan phonetics. This text is extracted from "Shitro Nyedon Nyingpo" by Terton Jatsun Nyingpo. The puja with talk and descriptions by Khandro Rinpoche usually runs for about 2 to 2.5 hours. It is best done at night for the full effect of the candlelight.
