His Holiness the Twelfth Gyalwang Drukpa |
His Holiness Jigme Pema Wangchen, the Twelfth Gyalwang Drukpa, is the spiritual head of the Drukpa Lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. A great practitioner of Mahamudra and Dzongchen, he studied the philosophical traditions of all the four schools of Tibetan Buddhism under the guidance of his principal guru, the late Kyabje Thuksey Rinpoche (1917 - 1982) and many other great masters. Despite being responsible for the lineage, His Holiness trends untiringly to give teachings, advices and initiations that will enable his students to practice and progress according to the Drukpa tradition. At present, he is responsible for numerous Drukpa lineage monasteries in the Himalayan region as well as dharma centers around the world, most notably in Europe, Asia and America.
The impact of His Holiness's simple and direct teaching is profound and has inspired a great many people throughout the world in their spiritual pursuits. Those who have already the good fortune to meet him feel, above all, personally and deeply touched by his great wisdom and compassion.

LIVE TO LOVE RELIEF EFFORTS IN LADAKH |
| A group of five of us from Malaysia, led by Jampal embarked on a relief and aid mission to Ladakh on 16 August 2010. Prior to our departure, we have been urging all other members to help collect donations and items that are needed for the flood victims such as warm clothing, blankets, masks and gloves etc. Of those used clothing that we received, we did a quality control selection as we feel that what we give to others have to be in good and clean condition. In fact the co-ordinator of the NGOs specifically discourages used clothing on the rationale that the victims have lost everything, the least they expect was dignity in the hour of crisis.

RELIEF EFFORTS FOR LADAKH |
| As the flooding and mudslides take their toll in the remote Himalayan plateau of Ladakh, many more people are victimized in these normally tranquil Himalayan mountains. As of Aug. 8, 160 people have died and over 600 are missing with little chance of survival, and by the end of the disaster, more than 8000 may be left homeless in this region where 130,000 dwell. We invite you to learn more about the situation through Relief Efforts for Ladakh's Grief.

WE BETTER ACT NOW TOMORROW IS TOO LATE |
| Between 0030 and 0100 on 6th August, cloudbursts hit Ladakh that resulted in the worst-ever flooding in its history, claiming over 100 lives so far. Its capital, Leh, and Choglamasar have been very badly affected. Flights and roads into this remote Himalayan plateau, situated in the north-western part of India, with much of it being over 3,000 meters (9,800 ft) have been closed. His Holiness the Gyalwang Drukpa is calling for immediate relief and aid for the victims and the affected survivors there. |
