His Holiness the Gyalwang Drukpa

His Holiness Jigme Pema Wangchen, the Gyalwang Drukpa, is the spiritual head of the Drukpa Lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. A great practitioner of Mahamudra and Dzongchen, he studied the philosophical traditions of all the four schools of Tibetan Buddhism under the guidance of his principal guru, the late Kyabje Thuksey Rinpoche (1917 - 1982) and many other great masters. Despite being responsible for the lineage, His Holiness trends untiringly to give teachings, advices and initiations that will enable his students to practice and progress according to the Drukpa tradition. At present, he is responsible for numerous Drukpa lineage monasteries in the Himalayan region as well as dharma centers around the world, most notably in Europe, Asia and America.

The impact of His Holiness's simple and direct teaching is profound and has inspired a great many people throughout the world in their spiritual pursuits. Those who have already the good fortune to meet him feel, above all, personally and deeply touched by his great wisdom and compassion.
